Still exciting

Still exciting

After all these years, there is still a particular excitement when seeing a new image coming off the printer. Having seen it in endless variations on the monitor, to then finally make a choice and print off the print still thrills me. At last there it is; and with today's technology it comes astonishingly close to the initial conception of colour and texture. The prints that work have a kind of presence that the image on the monitor does not have. So here is a sneak preview of one of the latest in a huge series of recent developments, and a real test of the colour matching process. It is called 'Turangalila' after the symphony by Olivier Messiaen. A word for which there is no straight forward translation, but encompasses love, life and death all in one word.
